Michael Jackson released the album "Thriller" in November 1982. Produced with Quincy Jones, it mixes pop, funk, rock and rhythm and blues and contains notably "Billie Jean", "Beat It" and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'". The title song was released as a single in 1983, and its nearly fourteen-minute clip, directed by John Landis, transformed music promotion on television. The album became one of the best-selling in history and won numerous awards. We must therefore distinguish the release of the album in 1982 from that of the single “Thriller” the following year.
