Which animal is known for its slow movement and lives mainly in the trees of tropical forests?

The sloth

The sloth, known for its extremely slow speed, spends most of its life in the trees of the tropical forests of Central and South America. Its slowness is actually an evolved evasion strategy to escape detection by predators. However, deforestation and habitat fragmentation seriously threaten its survival by reducing its living space and food resources. Conservation of tropical forests is therefore crucial not only for the sloth but also for the multitude of other species that share its habitat.
