Valentino Rossi, nicknamed “The Doctor”, is one of the most popular figures in motorcycle speed. He won nine world titles in all categories: one in 125 cc, one in 250 cc and seven in the premier category. This was called 500 cm³ during his first titles, then MotoGP from 2002. Rossi mainly raced for Honda and Yamaha at the highest level and accumulated numerous victories during an exceptionally long career. To say that he has nine “MotoGP” titles is therefore incorrect: only his titles acquired after the change in regulations officially bear this designation.
