Jefferson Airplane became one of the leading groups of San Francisco’s psychedelic scene. Released in 1967, the album “Surrealistic Pillow” includes “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit”, two songs driven by Grace Slick’s powerful voice that became closely associated with the counterculture. The band appeared at major gatherings of the era, including Monterey Pop and Woodstock. Its music combined vocal harmonies, electric guitars and literary or psychedelic imagery.
